Thomas' theology of the Trinity - an afternoon of studies
On Thursday 23 April 2009, Gilles Emery, professor of dogmatic theology at the Faculty of Theology, Fribourg University (Switzerland) visited the Thomas Instituut te Utrecht (Tilburg University) and gave a lecture entitled Thomas' Theology of the Trinity: Leading Ideas.
In 1995 Gilles Emery's dissertation La Trinité créatrice appeared and in 2004 his La théologie trinitaire de saint Thomas d'Aquin was published. An English translation of the book by Francesca Murphy was published in 2007 by Oxford University Press: The Trinitarian Theology of St Thomas Aquinas. In the mean time he has published a number of studies on Thomas' theology of the Trinity. Emery is also member of the editorial board of the Revue Thomiste and member of the International Theological Committee.At the afternoon of studies Emery talked about Aquinas' theology of the Trinity. After that Herwi Rikhof, director of the institute, gave a reaction entitled: 'Thomas' Theology of the Trinity and the Recent Renaissance of the Theology of the Trinity'.
